Phyllostachys Spectabilis, or Green Groove bamboo, has a wonderfully vibrant yellow canes striped green in the groove with evergreen foliage. This bamboo is perfect for screening, hedging and creating wind or sound breaks in your garden, but it can grow fast and may need containing if planted in the ground. It will do best in a full sun or partial shade in a moist but well drained soil. Bamboos are very thirsty and will require regular watering during the growing season.
